MEN
Defending champions knocked out in the quarter-finals
In a complete surprise, Südtirol has been eliminated already in the quarter-finals. The serial winners since 2008 found it extremely difficult to overcome Team Koroška/Kärnten during the regular time and the score remained 0:0. Team Koroška then prevailed 6:5 in the penalty shootout immediately afterwards.
In the first semifinal in Tønder / Tondern (Denmark), at 3.30 pm on Friday, the team will face Occitània from southern France, who only reached the semi-finals against the Slovaks in Hungary after a 0-0 draw with a 5-4 penalty shoot-out.
In an equal game between the Serbs in Croatia and Sydslesvig, the score was still 0-0 at the break, before the Sydslesvig side made it 1-0 (66') and then 2-0 (71') within a short space of time in the second half. Things got hectic towards the end: After two red cards for the Serbs in Croatia in the 82nd minute, they managed to score one goal in the 86th minute despite being outnumbered.
The game was interrupted for around 12 minutes due to a brief thunderstorm.
Friûl were also 2-1 up against FC DFK Oberschlesien at the end of the match.
The second semi-final will therefore be played between Sydslesvig and Friûl, also at 3.30 pm in Flensburg at the DGF stadium.
The men's placement round will be decided tomorrow. The losers of today's quarter-finals will meet tomorrow in a separate knockout round in Risum-Lindholm/Risem-Loonham at 2.00 pm and 3.15 pm on two pitches to determine the final positions 5 to 8.
Each match will last 45 minutes.
2 x 30 minutes are scheduled for the teams playing for places 9 to 21. The Roma National Minority have already secured 23rd place, as one of the teams from groups 21 to 24 had already left the tournament.

WOMEN
Defending champions eliminated in the semi-finals
The four undisputedly strongest women's teams reached the semi-finals in the evening.
However, Team Koroška/Kärnten, last year's winners, had no chance against Südtirol. The score was 1:1 shortly before the break when the South Tyroleans increased the lead to 2:1. In the first minute of the six minute injury time a third goal was scored for the side from Südtirol.
The South Tyroleans were superior to their opponents from Carinthia in every aspect. Playing almost exclusively towards a single goal, they made it 4:1 in the 60th minute and 5:1 in the 66th minute.
In Flensburg / Flensborg on the IF Sternen pitch, the match between Nordfraschlönj (North Friesland) and Sydslesvig had the character of a local derby.
The South Schleswig side lost 2-0 to their rivals from the west coast in front of a quasi-home crowd.
The North Frisians, who were already highly rated in the run-up to the tournament, will therefore play in the final on Saturday at 11.00 in Flensburg-Weiche, while the losers will contest the match for third place on 5 July in Harrislee / Harreslev at 15.00.
In the ranking tournament for places 5 to 9, Les Ladines, the women’s team from Ladinia, are only one goal ahead of the Nordschleswig women with 4 points and a two goal difference after the first day. It was the first win in the entire tournament for both minority representatives.
Both teams will meet tomorrow at 3.00 pm in Flensburg / Flensborg at IF Stjernen for the top clash and the preliminary decision for 5th place in the final ranking.
